Creating art has been a passion of mine since childhood.  Now, after raising a family, I have the opportunity to begin following my dream again.  My focus as an artist is determination, commitment and passion.  I feel these are necessary to me in order to grow as an artist, to continue to learn, to refine my skills and to product quality work that I can be proud of.

My creative process begins with finding a subject that somehow connects with me.  I am inspired by many things; nature, animals, personal interests, travel, family, everyday life adventures.  Once the subject for the painting is determined, the composition of the painting can begin.  The composition, I feel, is as important in a painting as the brushstrokes.  A good composition is one that keeps the viewers eyes moving around the entire painting while keeping the subject the focal point.

Keeping myself challenged and learning new skills every time I'm in my studio is very important to me.  Expanding my knowledge will keep me moving forward with my artistic career and allow me to reach a larger audience.  The freedom of expression that I feel when I paint is relaxing, exciting and humbling all at the same time.

Please feel free to contact me at bschallermeir@yahoo.com with any comments or commission requests.  I hope you enjoy my work.  Thanks for visiting my site.
